International Seminar on Humanity and Climate Change Crisis: A Multidimensional Perspective
This 2 day seminar will bring together policymakers, scientists, scholars, and thought leaders to deliberate on the human dimensions of climate change — an often overlooked but crucial aspect in addressing global environmental challenges. The event is expected to host up to 500 participants from various sectors including academia, government agencies, NGOs, and the general public.
The seminar aims to:
- Deepen understanding of the human-environment interaction in the climate change discourse;
- Explore ethical and spiritual perspectives rooted in Islamic teachings to guide sustainable responses; and
- Develop actionable strategies grounded in equity, inclusion, and community resilience.
Keynote and thematic speakers include:
- The Right Honourable Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari
- Sahibus Samahah Datu Haji Kipli bin Haji Yassin, Mufti of Sarawak
- Mr. Lachy Haynes, Asia Pacific Energy Transition Partner, PWc Australia
The seminar will also feature high-level dialogues on ethics—with particular emphasis on Islamic perspectives—alongside discussions on green technology and environmental governance. The seminar will be also complemented by exhibitions highlighting sustainable initiatives.
